Albert Einstein:

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.

My opinion

I've been seaching on the internet for some tips of playing the guitar and I found this site:  http://www.guitartips.com.au/

It says that you can learn how to play the guitar in 30 days! That's impossible!

"Imagine it. Today you can't play a single guitar chord -- this time next month you're mesmerizing audiences with your amazing guitar playing!"

That's a joke!

$959,500 - that's too much!

guitar owned by legendary British musician Eric Clapton was sold at a Christie's auction for $959,500  making it the most expensive guitar in the world.

A Fender Stratocaster, which Clapton nicknamed 'Blackie,' was sold for six times the price it was expected to garner.

The guitar was bought by an American chain of shops called 'The Guitar Center.' Clapton used the guitar from 1973 to 1985 on stage, but 'retired' it in 1991.

Eric Patrick Clapton – born in Ripley, United Kingdom on March 30, 1945 – made 'Blackie' from several different, Stratocasters originally bought in Nashville, Tennessee, US.

The Christie's auction also saw a whole lot of other Clapton items being sold. One of Clapton's guitars – the 1964 Gibson ES-335 – too was sold for $847,500 (Rs 3.89 crore) to The Guitar Center.

Another Clapton guitar was purchased for $791,500 (Rs 3.64 crore). The auction raised $7.43 million (Rs 34.178 crore) selling items donated by famous musicians.

The proceeds of the sale of the guitars will go towards Clapton's Crossroads addiction clinic, which he founded in 1998 and is its chairman of the board.

Buying a Guitar

Having just gone through the process of buying a new acoustic guitar (I picked up a L'Arrivée D-09 Rosewood Standard), it struck me that this might be the best time to let others know what I consider to be the best method to undertake when buying a new instrument.
A few things to keep in mind before we begin:

Have patience - do not decide you HAVE to buy the guitar that day. Plan on taking at least two trips to the music store.
Maintain control - You are in charge! Don't let music store salesmen intimidate you.
Research - The web is a great place to find info on guitars. Use it to your advantage!
Get help - if at all possible, recruit a friend who plays guitar to help you choose an instrument. If not, don't be afraid to ask music store employees multiple questions.

You do not have to be an expert guitarist to get a good deal on a good guitar. What you do have to be is a disciplined shopper.
